PowerPlan layout
Anupam presented the layout for system PowerPlans. The PowerPlans are broken into sections by color-coded text comments. Anupam proposed that the committee consider the following general layout:
- Medications
- Oxygen
- Laboratory
- Radiology
- Other diagnostic/monitoring tests
- Consults
- LET status & other admission orders
- Diet & activity
- Communication orders
This newer format focuses the user on higher-risk orders earlier in the ordering process and lower-risk orders later.
The group wanted to see a PowerPlan in this format and compare it against the more traditional format (Admit, Diagnosis, Condition, Vitals, Allergies, Activity, Nursing, Diet, Labs, Medications, Extra)
To-do items
[] Anupam to work with the CareConnection orders team to mock up a PowerPlan both ways
[] Anupam to follow-up with PIT to determine how best to include oral and IV contrast orders in the abdominal/pelvic CT scan PowerPlan
